Current Research
Modern Carbonates
Modern depositional environments are a primary focus of my current research. From freshwater to hypersaline environments, I work to better understand the variation of geochemical and textural signatures of carbonates, and the environmental condition which lead to their primary features.
Experimental Alteration
A second research focus utilizes an experimental approach to track diagenesis of carbonate archives over various alteration conditions. This allows for a detailed evaluation of the effect of one diagenetic factor (temperature, fluid chemistry, etc) on the reaction of the carbonate phase.
